ESTHER and STEVE SZMUTNI
Respecting nature’s harmony and expressing individuality through the art of jewelry is our main focus. We are successful, when you can sense these important components of life flowing through our creations for the benefit of all.
Esther, our designer, is a true Virgo, with incredible inner-strength, eye for unusual beauty and earthly warmth. Understanding that textures and shapes have their own personality, she puts them together seamlessly and helps them to evolve into eye-catching conversation pieces.
For Esther enjoying art and learning new things were always a way of life. She was born in Budapest, Hungary to a father who was a well known producer in theater arts and a mother, who was a theatrical custom-designer and later owned Europe Art Gallery in New York. Her passion for the arts was fully recognized after she moved to the United States at age 23. The next 20 years she turned her flair for colors, textures and shapes into making a living. She designed clothing and fashion accessories, and owned upscale boutiques in Los Angeles.
After a year of moving to the Sonora Desert, Esther finally retuned to another of her favorite art form: jewelry making. Her current medium and personal style evolved from: studying many different cultures, living in different parts of the world, her rich life experiences and spiritual beliefs.
Steve and Esther are stellar opposites, but they are the two halves that create the perfect whole. Steve’s background is in engineering. He brings cool logic and mechanical “know how” to their creative process. He also does all the paperwork and keeps Esther’s feet on the ground. They are proud grandparents of 5 wonderful children, 4 boys and a girl. They also have two rescue dogs; Toby, a big boy, is a 65lb Boxer and Goldie is small a pure breed Cocker Spaniel. Esther and Steve are active supporters of the local animal shelters.
